Principal’s Message
We hope that you enjoyed your three day weekend. Thank you to Miss Ferber and the 5th grade for organizing our first Food Truck Friday! The food was delicious and it was great to see all the families participate.
Today our faculty attended an inservice led by Jocelyn Pierre -Antoine, Associate Superintendent. She lead our teachers in a series of topics which included:

COVID-19 UPDATE
“Contra Costa County has entered into the “Red Tier” of California’s new framework for a safe progression of reopening schools, businesses and activities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The guidelines allow TK-12th grade schools to begin holding in-person instruction once a county has been in the ‘red tier’ for two consecutive weeks. Tuesday, October 13th marks the first day in which schools in Contra Costa will be eligible to reopen for in-person instruction without a waiver- in adherence with the California Department of Public Health.”
We will move forward with our in-person learning plan as stated in the letter sent out to families on October 11, 2020. Please be sure that you have filled out the Family Learning Plan which is due by the end of today. This will allow us to make the finishing touches on our reopening plan and move forward to place students in their cohorts.

Wheel-A-Thon 2020 Update
WATober is here and we’re excited to share two new updates! Please see below for on-campus WAT sign-ups and volunteer sign-ups. Thank you!
On-campus WAT details and student sign-ups: Thank you to everyone who completed the Participation Survey! (Additional spots are available for those who did not complete the survey.) Families, please remember that a chaperone must be present with your child during the on-campus event. Please plan to arrive on time and stay for 1 hour. WAT volunteer sign-ups: Families, we need your help to make this a fun and memorable event! We have several ways to participate over three days, Oct 28-30. Please note that all volunteers must have cleared fingerprints and a current Virtus training on file with SFA. If you have questions about this, please call the front office at (925) 682-5414. T-shirts: Student Council is hosting a WAT t-shirt decorating contest, so get out your fabric markers, puff paint, and tie-dye, and show us your WAT spirit! To participate in the contest, send a photo of your decorated t-shirt to sc@sfafalcons.org, and please wear your t-shirts on Wednesdays!

Come join us at our October Dine Out & Donate event at Jack’s Urban Eats on TUESDAY, October 20, 2020 from 4pm to 8pm. Jack’s Urban Eats is conveniently located at 2862 Ygnacio Valley Road in the Orchards Shopping Center.
20% of total sales will be donated back to our school! You can order by phone or in person. Please don’t forget to show them a copy of the digital flyer from your smart phone when you pay! You can even order online; please be sure to go to the “Sides” section and add the word “Fundraiser” to your order so that your purchase will count toward our fundraiser.

Planning is underway for our 24th Annual Gala & Auction “A Night in Hollywood” which will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021. We need volunteers to join our auction committee to make this event a success!

Auction – Family Donation Intent Form Due 10/30
Family donations are a critical part of the success of the Annual Auction. There are many unique and creative ways to make your donations really count! You may donate by check, gift cards, Scrip, our Amazon Wish List, use of a vacation home or timeshare, sign-up party host, event tickets, fun themed gift baskets, exclusive tours and much MORE!
Your required Family Donation Intent Form is due no later than October 30, 2020. If you have already made your donation via the Falcon Fair, there is no need to fill out this form. Thank you for your support of SFA!

Calling All Volunteers
PACE is in need of some volunteers! We are looking for volunteers who would like to head new fundraisers, help with fundraisers, chair all the room parents, and when we go back to in person learning, run the Children’s Choice Lunch program.
