Principal’s Message
Happy Fall! Today, we went to church as a whole school. The Gospel was from Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill
cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In
the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” I am blessed to be part of a community that shines brightly for all to see! This Friday, we will take part in our yearly Wheel-A-Thon, time to pump up the tires, and get your helmets ready for a great day. Please be sure to look over the flyer that came home in the Wednesday envelopes for details, and times. It will be a great day for our Saint Francis community.
In consideration of all those affected by Hurricane Dorian, the students, and faculty and staff of Saint Francis of Assisi, donated $400 to the students of St. Francis de Sales located in Marsh Harbor, Abaco Island. Together, we are faith-filled, and globally aware
This week we implemented some changes to our Extended Care afterschool program. Students in grades 4-8 will be in the gym from 3:20-4:00. Thank you to all the extended care staff, who are working together for our students. Please note that if you are picking up your child before 3:30, you must use the drive through line. The church parking lot cannot be used for pick up. Per the Family Handbook, “Drop off and pick up of children in the
Church parking lot is PROHIBITED unless picking up TK, or have a scheduled
appointment.” Thank you for your support with this matter.
Lastly, please join us this coming Sunday, September 29th for our first “Saint Francis Family Mass,” which will be hosted by our 8th and kinder students. Mass will begin at 10:00. Be sure to join us after mass for hospitality. Coming together for mass is the greatest way to share in the Discipleship of Saint Francis.
3rd Grade – The students have embraced the Solar Project which is taking place on our campus. They have researched about Solar, and have created posters which can be found throughout the school.
4th Grade – The students are getting ready to learn about the Commandments, and write their mystery book report.
