This Thursday, September 16 we will have our first Student Council Prepay event. Students that donate $2 will receive a root beer float at their lunchtime. They can also wear free dress with the SFA colors (red, white, blue, and black).
Our Wheel-A-Thon is right around the corner. Please use the following link to donate, sign up and help make this a special day to remember. We are celebrating 40 years of riding as a school community.

Fall pictures will be taken on Tuesday, October 5. Please see the attached form for direction and ordering information. All students should be dressed in their red polo shirts for pictures on this day.

Want to recognize your child/ren for their birthday? Please fill out the attached form, and return it with your payment to the school office at least two weeks prior to their birthdate
  • Please be sure to review the dress code with your child/ren. Dress Code page 62.
  • Hydration is important, please make sure that your child/ren come to school with water each day
  • The maximum speed limit on campus at any time is 5 mph. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.
  • Please be sure that your student loads into the car on the passenger side of the vehicle
Joanne Barrios has been a member of the SFA community since 2014. She is Mom to a current 7th grader (Vanessa) and Carondelet Sophomore (Rebecca SFA Class of 2020). Joanne has been the Diocese/Mission/Pastor Relations Chair on the SFA School Board for the past 3 years. She also serves on PACE as the Greater Giving Chair and Prior Auction Chair (2016-2019). Outside of her involvement with SFA, Joanne is the Treasurer for the Carondelet High School Parent Association Board. Leveraging her 20 years in the insurance industry, in April 2020, Joanne launched Joanne Barrios Insurance Services, an Independent Insurance Brokerage in Walnut Creek.
Mary Beth Dam is School Board Finance Chair. She has over 20 years of credit and lending experience including working for GE Capital and JPMorgan. She currently works for HSBC has the West Coast Regional Head of Credit Management for International and Corporate Banking. She has been married to her husband, Ken, for 10 years and is the proud mom of Kai, who is in the fourth grade.
Lesley Schooler has been a member of the St. Francis of Assisi community since 2014 and is currently serving as the School Board President. She is a proud mom to a current 7th grader, Lucas, and 4th grader, Evan. Lesley has taught mathematics in Catholic schools for 20 years first at St. Elizabeth High School in Oakland and for the past 9 years at Carondelet High School where she currently is the Dean of Faculty.
Catherine Morimoto has been a member of the SFA community since 2013. She is Mom to a current 8th grader (Samantha) and 4th grader (Nicholas). Catherine has been the Marketing and Communications chair on the SFA School Board for the past 3 years. Prior to that she also served on PACE. Outside of her involvement with SFA, Catherine is the Director of Clinical Operations at Diablo Clinical Research in Walnut Creek.
Michael Schooler is the Academic Committee Chair. This is Michael’s second year on the St. Francis School Board, and he has over 20 years teaching in Catholic high schools. Michael currently teaches at Carondelet High School, where he is the English Department Chair. He has two sons, Lucas and Evan, who have been students at St. Francis since they began as kindergarteners. Outside of teaching, he enjoys coaching baseball, running ultramarathons and traveling.
Jeanne Gomez deSpretter is currently the Development Committee Chair. She received her BA from UC Berkeley in Architect and City and Regional Planning. Her professional experience is in Healthcare Design and Construction. She is currently the Director of Facilities Development at John Muir Health. She has served on the SFA board since 2017. She has a strong commitment to providing financial access and scholarship opportunities to our SFA community. Outside of work she spends time with her family biking, hiking and golfing.
