Falcon Newsletter 6-1-22
Thank you to the Auction Committee for a wonderful auction! Las Vegas was alive in our own courtyard which was transformed into a wonderful evening of laughter, food, drink, dancing, and fundraising for our students. Thank you to everyone who made this event a night to remember!
This week we celebrate our 8th graders as they prepare to complete their time at Saint Francis of Assisi School. This is a time of celebration- looking back on lessons learned, adventures shared, and bright moments filled with special meaning. It is a time for building on their elementary school education, a time for looking forward, a time to set new goals, and a time to dream new dreams. They are now ready to spread their wings and see what lies beyond Saint Francis of Assisi School. Please join me in praying for our graduates and their families. I would like to acknowledge those families that are graduating out their last Saint Francis student:
● Bajada ● Burton ● deSpretter ● Ellis ● Garcia ● Girard ● Ivankovich
● Ingersol ● Lopez-Rico ● Martinez ● Mubaraki ● Mullin ● Perales
● Schwabacher ● Seto ● Partida ● Vogel ● Watson ● White ● Won
Thank you to the Student Council and our 8th graders for a super fun Olympic Day!
END OF YEAR ACCOUNTING: All monies owed are due and payable by June 6 in order for your child to receive their report card and end-of-year goodies/yearbooks.
Staff Update 2022-2023
As is the case for all members of our Saint Francis of Assisi community, each new year brings with it change. Please join me in extending a heartfelt thank you to the following faculty and staff who have shared their love, time, and caring spirit with our school community. While we are excited about what lies ahead for each of them, we will truly miss them as they have been an integral part of who we at Saint Francis of Assisi are all about what lies ahead for each of them.
Lisa McGuinness: “It was with much thought and careful consideration, that I have decided to step back from teaching to spend time with my son during his senior year of high school as well as helping manage my husband’s office. I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach kindergarten here at St. Francis. This is a very special community and I feel honored to have been a part of it for these past three years. I will truly miss the students, families, and faculty. They will always hold a very special place in my heart.”
Katie Johnson: To the SFA Community and My Dear First Grade Families,
“It is bittersweet to share with you that I will be moving to Denver after getting married this summer. While I am looking forward to this next phase of life beginning, it is with a heavy heart that I will leave SFA after teaching 1st grade here for the past 3 years. I adore your children and love the SFA community, but the time has come for me to start this next chapter. It is with deep appreciation that I thank all of you for your support, encouragement, and for raising such wonderful children– they mean the world to me and I will miss them all tremendously. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your children, your greatest joys, with me. I wish you all the very best. With love and gratitude.”
Nikki Candelieri: “I’m so thankful for the opportunities that I experienced while working at SFA. It has been such an amazing learning experience where I felt like I was part of a family. The students have taught me as much as I have taught them, this school has allowed me to grow and the staff has made me feel supported every step of the way. I will be leaving to further my professional experience and going into a position that is more closely related to my field of education. I am sad to be leaving such an amazing community but I will forever cherish the time I spent working at St. Francis.”
Judy Mercer: “I will be starting a new chapter in my life this year. My family and I are moving to Texas in June. My time at this school has been short but nothing short of amazing. I will dearly miss all of the students and staff here at St. Francis and look forward to new opportunities for me to grow. You will always be in my prayers and thoughts. Thank you for a great year! God Bless.”
Sancianna Silveira: “Attending Catholic schooling, consecutively, from preschool through college was a blessing. Returning to Saint Francis of Assisi School was amazing — as I fell right back to my roots. I am so grateful for the rich experiences that my role has afforded me as I transition from Saint Francis of Assisi School to pursue my career and postgraduate aspirations. A gracious thank you to Father Ismael Gutierrez and Mrs. Cathy VanderKlugt for the opportunity to grow in faith, knowledge, and service. The faculty/staff, families, and students will always hold a very special place in my heart. Today, I wish many blessings to all members of this very special community and look forward to returning in the future. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I start this new chapter of my life. Much gratitude and joy.”
