Thank you, faculty and staff, who serve our Saint Francis of Assisi School. Amen
This week we celebrate our faculty and staff. Thank you to all the parents who have brought lunches, flowers, special treats, and warm wishes for all of us! We are truly blessed by you!
Last week, our 8th graders spent the day at the Cathedral of Light celebrating with other 8th graders from throughout the Diocese of Oakland. Here is what they had to say about this time.
“When we were being welcomed we all met a kind man named Nelson who was really funny and pretty good at singing. We were all jamming to the music and everyone was having a great time. It was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Being there with all my friends is a memory I will never forget.”
– Nadya
“We also got to listen to the bishop speak about his role in the church. My favorite part of the experience was when he went through each item of his garments and explained what they symbolized. It was really interesting to learn about because I had no idea how many traditions had been kept over so many years. Our school got to watch a mass led by the bishop and some students in the class had the amazing opportunity to later serve for him. I will never forget how much more connected I felt to Jesus through going to a Cathedral. I am very thankful that I was able to go!”
– Reagan
Thank you to Mrs. McCann, Mrs. Ivankovich, and all the parents who helped to put together the Father/Daughter dance and Mother/Son Bingo. Everyone had a wonderful time!
This Saturday our second graders, and those who have gone through the program with Mrs. Clement this year will receive Jesus in the Eucharist, please keep them in your prayers.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Mrs. VanderKlugt
