Falcon Newsletter 5-18-22
Last Friday, our second and eighth graders led our school community in a beautiful prayer service to crown Mary. Each class brought up flowers to place around Mary as our eighth graders put a beautiful crown on her.
Please keep our 6th graders in your prayers as they will finish this week off at camp. Our 8th graders are busy presenting their R.O.P.E (Rite of Passage Experience) to their families, faculty, and staff. This is a very special time for them as they take time to reflect on the Student Learning Expectations (SLE’s), and how they have helped them while at Saint Francis of Assisi School.
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who have been teaching Junior Achievement. Junior Achievement has over 100 local JA Areas across the nation. JA programs—in the core content areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy—ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century.
AUCTION UPDATE
The auction is this weekend! The committee has been very busy planning and putting this wonderful event together. On Thursday, the online auction will begin and remain open until Sunday. There are many wonderful items to bid on, including the many class projects. Be sure to check it out and bid, bid, bid.

PENNIES FOR HAITI
Congratulations to grades TK-4 for winning the Penny Battle for Haiti. If your child/ren is in grades TK-4 they can wear their PJs on Thursday, May 26. Each class will also be watching a movie on this day as part of their prize.
WATER
The weather is getting warmer and we are in need of water for the classrooms. If you are able to donate a case of water to the classroom, we would greatly appreciate it.
OLYMPIC DAY
Next Friday, May 27th we will have our Olympic Day. It is a minimum day dismissal and ALL students will be released at 12:30 from their classroom. We will have free parking on this day. We are also excited to have our PACE committee on campus for a recruiting fair. We hope you will join us in the courtyard and check out what PACE is all about.
Calling all baseball fans!
Our school has worked with the Oakland A’s to access discounted tickets up to 50% off for 27 home games (including Giants, Red Sox, Yankees, and Astros). We have our own link that you can use to purchase tickets and share out with your friends and family. To purchase tickets visit this page here – click on buy discounted tickets and enter in the promo code: SFAFalcons.
In addition to offering a discount on the tickets, the Oakland A’s will also donate $5 per ticket sold back to our school at the end of the season. Obviously with the more tickets bought, the more they donate to the school, so we want this to get to as many people as possible! Please share this link with your friends and family and make sure to bookmark it for each access to purchasing your own tickets!

Our Mission Statement
Inspired by our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi, in collaboration with the Parish, community, parents, and students, our school celebrates an environment which is dedicated to providing quality faith-based Catholic education in a safe and nurturing environment for students in grades TK-8. Our value-centered academic programs empower the students with the skills to be faith-filled people, life-long learners and problem solvers, globally responsible citizens, and effective communicators.
