Falcon Newsletter 3-9-22
It was great to see all the families that attended our Open House last Friday! The laughter of seeing many for the first time in a long time was heartwarming to watch! Thank you to Mrs. Smithwick for setting up the food truck, to our used uniform folks, and to our girl scouts for helping to complete the afternoon. You should have received a “Lent in a Bag” for your family to bring the spirit of Lent into your home. This is a very special time in our Liturgical year that has a beautiful story. We hope you will take the time to enjoy this activity with your family.
Beginning at 11:59 pm on Friday, March 11, 2022, Saint Francis of Assisi School will align with State and County guidance regarding the wearing of masks indoors in K-12 settings.
  • Masks will be optional on the school campus beginning March 14, 2022
  • Students, teachers, staff, and visitors may still choose to wear masks on campus depending on their personal preference and circumstances since the County and State Health guidelines still “strongly recommend” masking as a mitigation strategy.
  • Faculty, Staff, and Parents will no longer need to present the Health App prior to their arrival at school.
Saint Francis of Assisi Parish and School Lenten Almsgiving Project
Father Ismael has asked for us to partner in helping the Parish with fundraising for a Mission project in Haiti. La Saline, a commune of Haiti located in the western department, is one of the largest slums in the country. Unemployment, lack of social housing, road infrastructure, and schools reinforce the poor living conditions in La Saline. Misery only stagnates or increases in this vast slum where parents do not have the means to meet the needs of their children, and adolescents are left to their own devices. For the past few years, the incessant fighting between armed gangs, repeated protest strikes, and this year’s health crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic have further aggravated the precarious situation of the families. In a direct way, this project will benefit 250 young people. Read more about the project here: Haiti project
