Principal’s Message
This week we celebrate St. Valentine. Saint Valentine is the patron saint of love. Believers say God worked through his life to perform miracles and teach people how to recognize and experience true love. This famous saint, an Italian doctor who later became a priest, inspired the creation of the holiday of Valentine’s Day.
Please join me in welcoming Diane Cordova as the Second Grade Instructional Assistant. We are very blessed to have Diane join us. Please pray for our second graders as they will be receiving their First Reconciliation this Thursday. Together, with their families, and Mrs. Clement they begin their journey towards receiving Jesus.
Congratulations to Nate Feldman who won Second place at the Diocese Science Fair this past weekend in the Mathematics Division. His project was titled “Powerhouses: Are Magnetic Energy Generators More Efficient than House Generators.”
LOOK WHAT IS HAPPENING
TK-I am so proud of our adventurous tasters! Last week we tried lima beans, lettuce, lemon and licorice. Everyone took at least a little nibble of everything! It is amazing to watch everyone attempt to eat each item. This week for the letter M we will be having meatballs, mac & cheese, mango, mushrooms and marshmallows.
1st Grade – The first grade celebrated the 101 day of school. They made snack bags with 101 pieces of food, and built towers using 101 Dixie cups.
Parish/School Repairs Update
We are very pleased to announce that Clean Air HVAC, our heater and air conditioning maintenance and repair company has just replaced the two heater/ac units in the Family Center that serve the Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten classrooms. The units replaced were installed in 1984 and were barely working.
Clean Air HVAC donated one of the units which would have cost us over $9,800. In addition, in 2018 Clean Air HVAC donated one of the two new heaters/ac units installed at the Parish Office which would have cost us $7,000. This represents significant cost savings for the Parish/School.
We are very grateful for the quality of work done by Clean Air HVAC and their continued support of our School and Parish. We wish to thank Roy Branda, one of the owners of Clean Air HVAC and a parishioner and member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. We highly recommend Clean Air HVAC to our St. Francis of Assisi parishioners and School families.

Today is our Dine & Donate fundraiser at BurgerIM in Pleasant Hill!
If you’ve never been to BurgerIM before, you’re in for a real treat! BurgerIM allows you to customize your burger any way you’d like! From regular sized burgers to small sliders, you can choose from beef, lamb, chicken, salmon, or even falafel! They even offer chicken wings, delicious sides and kId’s meals too! There are gluten free, vegetarian, pescatarian and even vegan options. Click on this link to view their extensive menu!
This fundraiser is valid ALL DAY from 11am to 9pm! The best part? In an effort to go green, BurgerIM does NOT require a fundraising flyer at all! Just make sure you mention you’d like to support St. Francis of Assisi School BEFORE you order so that the cashier will make sure to include your transaction in our fundraiser.
Online orders will also be included, as well as Doordash or Chowhound delivery orders. Just make sure you enter “St. Francis of Assisi School” in the comments section.
Be sure to invite your family and friends!
